Masjid As Salaam and Education Center of the B.C. Muslim Association operates a food bank as part of its outreach program.
The program is supported by the Community and is managed and operated as an outreach program of Masjid As Salaam and Education Center in Burnaby, B.C.
The program was established in 2000 and is run out of the masjid premises, situated at 5060 Canada Way, Burnaby, B.C. The Food Bank has been serving the Burnaby/New Westminster area for over 15 years. The program is solely run by the directors of the Masjid and local volunteers.
There are approximately 110 families in the program accommodated as part of the food bank on a monthly basis.
How Can You Help?
The Food Bank relies heavily on financial /food donations and volunteers to assist in the monthly Food Bank operations.

“It’s nice to see the community keep giving and giving,” Azim said.
People need to understand, said Azim, that anyone could need access to a food bank at any time.
The Burnaby branch of the B.C. Muslim Association is always seeking volunteers and donations, he added.
